MY STORY

she/her

Over the past many years, my clinical training, holistic healing practices, volunteer work and pilgrimages have taken me across different paradigms, cultures, settings, and different parts of the globe, including residential group homes, school grounds, correctional facilities, medical and mental health clinics, hospice care, yoga studios, Buddhist monasteries, and spiritual retreat centers. My life experiences as an (embodied) immigrant woman of color and the lessons from my journey have shaped who I am, expanded my worldview, richly informed my work, and opened me up to connect more deeply to the experiences of the underprivileged communities, specifically Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC).

My sixteen years of work in non-profit agencies and the public mental health system have allowed me to live out my purpose through service and caring for the most vulnerable populations. This includes conducting clinical assessments, diagnosing, providing treatments, crisis intervention, care coordination, educating and coaching parents, all the while advocating for the rights and needs of the marginalized, oppressed, and disenfranchised individuals. However, the most rewarding part of my work is providing therapy to individuals of widely diverse backgrounds.

As a child of the East who grew up in the West, I have always believed that a holistic, culturally responsive and trauma-informed practice is not only important, but essential in facilitating long-lasting positive change.

Although clinical social work and talk therapy have been the foundation of my work, my passion for body-mind-spirit approach (as known as integrative therapy) has taken me on a lifelong quest. I’ve been privileged to study with different teachers on various healing methods outside of Western traditional therapy.

For almost two decades, I have incorporated breath work, meditation, expressive arts, reflective and mindfulness practice in my work, in efforts to promote holistic healing and mindful living for my clients. I’m profoundly blessed to have received the gifts of learning, healing, and gaining the skills that align more with my purpose, vision and values. They have helped me cultivate greater compassion, wisdom, and equanimity to better facilitate the healing process for others.

As a student of life and a traveler on the spiritual path, I have utmost respect for the true practitioners who choose to walk this path with humility, grace, integrity, and loving-kindness. Although our paths may look different from each other, I believe that all paths lead us back to Love. I will be honored to extend myself for support and guidance along your healing and Soul journeys. As change is the only constant, my offerings will continue to evolve, as I continue to evolve alongside you.
